About Me

Hi! My name is Teresa MacBain and I’m a graduate student at Samford University in the Instructional Design and Technology program, and I also work as an instructional designer at Samford for the professional studies program.

APPROACH

I take an inventive and methodical approach towards instructional design to enhance adult learners’ development, resulting in improved course materials, better student engagement, and an improved learning experience.

IMPACT

I’m best suited for a creative role that allows me to implement adult learning theory, employs decision-making, and includes design and development of eLearning, blended, or instructor programs and solutions.

SKILLS

I’m skilled at needs assessments, course design, content development, program evaluation, and project management. Authoring tools: Adobe Captivate 2019, Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Camtasia, and Lectora Inspire.

Education

I have a B.A. in Organizational Leadership from Samford University where I graduated summa cum laude, and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology and Design at Samford.

I have worked as a nonprofit executive director, instructional designer, educator, corporate trainer, communications director, and served on numerous boards. Within the religious nonprofit sector, I served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church, worship leader, trainer, and communications director.
